Johnson, Beach win at State Literary

THOMASVILLE --
On Wednesday, March 13, Brookwood School students traveled to Gordon State College in Barnesville, Ga., to compete in the Georgia Independent School Association State 3-AAA Literary Competition. A pair of seniors, Julia Johnson and Brianna Beach, walked away with the State Championship in Duo Interpretation. Literary coordinator and Brookwood faculty member Jonathan Groover said, “I’m so proud of Brianna and Julia.  This is their senior year, and all their hard work paid off. I was blown away watching their performance.” Approximately 13 schools were represented in the 3-AAA State Competition.

Below is a list of Brookwood School state finishers:

Duo Interpretation: Julia Johnson/Brianna Beach, State Champions.
Personal Essay: Madeline Gordon, 3rd place.
Humorous Interpretation: Sam Watts, 3rd place.
Impromptu Speaking: Evans Dodys, 4th place.
Trio: Lilly Jackson, Maryam Sibley, Lauren Ryan, 4th place.
