Giving Back

Summer Projects

Brookwood is constantly striving to maintain and develop the best possible facilities and resources for our students. Each summer, we have an extensive list of projects for repair, improvement, or renovation.

The purpose for sharing this list with our community is two-fold. First, we want our community to know what we have in the works to improve Brookwood. Secondly, we need to fund each of these projects through donations. Bear in mind that all capital projects are funded outside of tuition.

Please consider donating to one or more of the following summer projects to bring them to a reality:

List of 9 items.

  • Crozer Hall Renovations ($110,000)

When our Upper School students return in the fall, we would like for the Crozer commons to have new lockers, flooring, paint, and decorative touches to create a warm and engaging learning environment.
  • Field Maintenance ($30,000)

Brookwood’s fields are works of art and need constant attention to maintain their look and quality. Further, repair is needed to our irrigation system, well, and scoreboards.
  • Flexible Classroom Furniture Pilot Program ($25,000)

One classroom each in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School buildings will have furniture designed specifically for collaborative learning. We seek to break the traditional classroom to spaces which foster innovation. Over the course of the next several years, we would like to fully outfit each of Brookwood’s classrooms with new furniture.
  • General Maintenance ($40,000)

Stoddard Gym has a leaking room and we have a few AC units to replace. While less glamorous than some projects, attention to the maintenance of our buildings is what helps to keep our facilities in such great shape.
  • Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten lockers ($18,000)

It is time to replace the aging lockers in this building.

  • Ping pong tables ($400/ each)

The addition of ping-pong tables in the Beverly athletic Center has been a hit this year! However, we could use a few more.

  • Security ($30,000)

We have made tremendous advancements in campus security in the past several years. We will continue to press forward with additional cameras and locks.

  • Transportation ($100,000)

We have made inroads into our transportation needs by the addition of one new 14 passenger mini-bus; this project was sponsored by the Brookwood Auction. We seek to continue to replace and add to our aging fleet, and meet growing demand, with additional mini-buses and vans.

  • Video Monitor in Flowers Hall ($3,100)

For announcements, presentations, and devotions, this will be an asset to our Middle School.

Located in Thomasville, GA, Brookwood School is a private school for grades JK-12. Students benefit from a challenging academic program, fine and performing arts, competitive athletics, and a wide selection of extracurricular activities.
