The Warriors fell behind early, surrending two runs in the top half of the first winning. They quickly worked out of the early 2-0 hole, scoring one in the bottom of the first on an Ann Murray Jackson single. The freshman's RBI scored Mollie Vick from third base.
The bottom of the second inning saw the Warriors take a 3-2 lead, before allowing the Wildcats to tie it in the top half of the third at 3 all. Back and forth the teams went, as a fielder's choice allowed Brookwood to regain the lead, 4-3.
A momentum-capturing three up, three down inning pitched by Abby Lee in the top of the fifth provided the spark the Warriors would need. The bottom of the fifth saw them explode for five runs after loading the bases with nobody out. The 9-3 cushion proved to be enough for the win.
The Wildcats made things interesting in the top of the sixth, sending three runs across to tighten up the score 9-6 which stuck until the final out.
With the win, the Warriors finish the regular season 10-7 overall and 5-3 in Region play. They now await their final Region seeding, which will determine their playoff opponent and site. There is a possibility the Lady Warriors can tie for second in the Region and be rewarded with a home playoff game.
