Cauley and Bryants Compete in Ohio

Brookwood Clay Target team members Will Bryant, Sam Bryant and Ava Cauley joined over 3,500 high school and college shooters at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Ohio to compete in the the National Championships hosted by the Scholastic Clay Target Program.  The trio had several standout performances.

Will Bryant shot a team best in Sporting Clays, connecting on 173 out of 200 targets to finish in the top 10% of the event. Bryant also shot a 187 out of 200 in American Skeet, finishing in the top third of the field.  These scores qualify him to be a member of next year's National SCTP All Scholastic Team.

This was Sam Bryant’s first ever National level competition. He competed in three events, and his performance included a score of 147 out of 200 in American Skeet.

Cauley finished 5th female overall in Olympic Trap and was in the top third in Super Sporting, Sporting and American Skeet.  In addition to winning her class in two different sporting events held at nearby Eagles Nest Shooting Grounds, Ava was the female runner up in the Junior US Open Fitasc sporting match. Cauley was also recently named to the National Sporting Clays All-American Team as a Rookie Sub Junior Lady for her performance in that sport over the last year.

Their Coach, Mike Simpson said, “I couldn’t be any prouder of their performance in the SCTP National Championships.  The tremendous work ethic and dedication they put into their sport will continue to separate them from athletes in the rest of the country.”

These three look forward to joining their Warrior Clay Target Team in pursuit of a GISA State Championship this Fall!
