After two and a half innings of scoreless baseball, the Warriors provided the only offense they would need in the Bottom of the 3rd.
The action started with a 1-out Walk by Jacob Lauderdale, who was immediately replaced by Colin Clark as a courtesy runner at 1st base. Josh McCaskill's RBI standup Double to deep left-center field scored Clark all the way from 1st.
JP Chapman singled on a line drive, putting runners at the corners with still only 1 out. Joe Parker's patient at bat drew another Walk, loading the bases for Marcus West.
West singled to score McCaskill and advance Chapman and Parker 90 feet. With the bases still loaded, Parker Mirick drew an RBI Walk to score Chapman.
The Warriors were unable to add to the inning, but the damage was done with a 3-0 Brookwood lead.
From there, Jacob Lauderdale on the mound and the defense behind him took care of business.
Lauderdale worked a complete game 2-hit shutout, looking strong from start to finish. The Sophomore needed only 77 pitches against Southland's free-swinging bats to go the 7 innings. He was in command throughout, striking out 6 and only allowing 1 walk.
The win improves Brookwood to 5-2 in Region play and secures a home playoff series in the 1st Round of the GISA AAA Playoffs. The Warriors will travel to Americus Friday with a chance to take the Region title outright.
