Brookwood Buddies begin their yearlong friendship
August 28, 2012

One of the traditions at Brookwood School is the Buddy Program that pairs members of the senior class with first graders. Throughout the school year, the older students communicate with the youngsters and share special events and other occasions with their "Buddies."

During the first full week of school, the members of the Class of 2013, the smallest senior class in recent Brookwood memory, consisting of only 21 students, met their 31 first grade Buddies.

Brookwood first grader Clark Carter meets James Casanova, his senior class Buddy. Both are from Thomasville.

Anna Lauri Parrott of Dixie and senior Emily Unglaub of Thomasville will get to know each other as Brookwood Buddies during the school year.

Brookwood Senior Peyton Patterson of Thomasville meets her first grade Buddies Mikayla Voyles, also of Thomasville, and Elaine Mercer, who commutes to Brookwood from Moultrie, Ga.

Senior Carter Reed of Thomasville, center, pauses on the playground with his first grade Brookwood Buddies Rodge Waldrop of Thomasville and Aaryan Khurana of Moultrie.
