A CHRISTMAS TRADITION - The annual Christmas Buddy Assembly at Brookwood School brings together seniors and first graders to sing carols and present a special program for parents and teachers. After becoming well acquainted with their 6- and 7-year-old buddies, the seniors, assisted by a few juniors, decorate miniature Christmas trees to present to their elementary school friends reflecting the youngsters' interests, favorite colors, and ambitions.
FUTURE AUBURN TIGER - Jessie Wortman, the daughter of Clint and Jenay Wortman of Quitman, takes seriously her enrollment in a college preparatory school. Although she's only in the first grade, her original Christmas tree, designed by her senior buddy Sara Whetsell, clearly reflects that the young Brookwood student is an Auburn fan.
PURPLE DECORATIONS - Ann Murray Jackson's Christmas tree, designed by her senior buddy Maizie Jones, featured ornaments representing the first grader's interests in horses, music, dance, science, and even lip gloss, as well as her favorite color purple. It was a special day for Ann Murray, because after the program she went with her parents, Stuart and LeAnn Jackson, to attend a court session finalizing the adoption of her new baby sister Georgia.
A YODA-SIZED TREE - Zach Singletary, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Tim Singletary, examines all the Star Wars figures decorating his own little tree.
JINGLE BELLS - The first graders jingle tiny bells as they sing with the Brookwood seniors wearing Santa hats.
