Brookwood's 'Green Queen' honored
November 10, 2009

THOMASVILLE - The Brookwood School class of 2010 dedicated this year's Brookwood Warrior Yearbook to science teacher Carol Sheftall.

Yearbook Editor Liz Olson said that when Sheftall, the "Green Queen," "is not on the prowl for grass-walking violators, you can find her checking one of the many recycling containers she has placed around the school."

Stephen Stubley, class president, said that Sheftall "not only cares for her students in the classroom, but also supports them in their extracurricular activities."

Now in her 13th year at the college preparatory school, Sheftall is the chairman of the Science Department and regularly attends softball and basketball games, as well as other competitive sports, and greets fans at the gate at home football games. She is married to William L. Sheftall, Jr.  of Thomasville. Their children are Will Sheftall, who graduated from Brookwood in 2003, and Mary Beth Dyke of Atlanta.
