The study of American history is emphasized on the middle school level so students can take a closer look at the past glories and tragedies, the heroes and victims, and the opportunities and setbacks that shaped our great country. The topics of this course include the pre-history to the present, the crisis in the colonies to the shaping of a new nation, westward expansion, the Civil War, and how the United States became and continues to be a world power
