FROM THE HEADMASTER...

We begin the new year with good news about the success of our Annual Fund campaign.  As of December 30, 2005, we have received over $121,000 in gifts and pledges.  We have surpassed our goal.

Our thanks to Charnie and Max Beverly for their outstanding leadership on behalf of our parents and thanks also to Phillip Watt for his leadership at the Board level.  Special thanks also go to all of the members of our community who participated and made this success possible.

This very positive result shows the real strength of the Brookwood School community.  It shows how you recognize and respond to the need for the resources that make it possible for us to continue to do everything possible to provide a superior educational experience for our students.  Our excellent faculty does a good job because they know that they have the support of our parents to make the extra efforts that ensure that we do all we can to encourage all of our students to work to reach their potential.

Thank you for your continuing strong support of Brookwood.

COSTUME WORKDAY AND INFORMATION

A workday for Disney's Beauty and the Beast costumes will be held this Saturday in the Upper School library from 10:00 - 4:00. Sewing expertise is not required; there are lots of "non-sewing" jobs. Come join us if you can for fun, fellowship, and work as we kick off this year's drama production project.

*Lisa Brinson in Cairo has dance shoes for people who might be looking for them for their children. Her business is called Standing Ovations and her number is 224-6751.

 Drama Guild Search.............

Do you have an old metal tankard or stein that you really don't know what to do with anymore?  Well, Drama Guild needs it!  We are looking for disgarded metal mugs to use in the Pub scene of "Beauty and the Beast."  They will be dented and painted for the show, so they will not be returned to you.  We need at least two dozen for the production.  So, please keep on the lookout at yard sales and garage sales over the holidays.  Each tankard needs to be full size in order for it to show up from the stage.  Just drop them off at the office, and we'll put them to good use!  Thanks for your help!
