FROM THE HEADMASTER...
In this last message of 2005, I want to acknowledge a gift that our students have given to Brookwood because it speaks to the things that we are about at this institution. During this semester on three separate occasions we have had adults from other schools make a special point of telling us how much they have enjoyed working with our students. They said in effect, "It has been a joy to watch your students and work with them." Our students received this kind of praise in the arts, in athletics and on a field trip in another city. We strive to inculcate in our students our core values that will guide them throughout their lives. When they behave in such a manner that they garner words of praise from others, we gain a surge of satisfaction in seeing the fulfillment of our efforts. That is the joy of teaching and parenting. Parents, faculty and students should all join together this Christmas season in thanks for a Brookwood that brings out the best in our students. At this time of year when we celebrate the birth of Christ and the greatest gift of all, we can also celebrate the gifts that our students have given us as they show they are living the values we teach.
May everyone have a blessed, serene and joyous Christmas in which you celebrate the true gifts that you all have.

Drama Guild Search.............
Do you have an old metal tankard or stein that you really don't know what to do with anymore? Well, Drama Guild needs it! We are looking for disgarded metal mugs to use in the Pub scene of "Beauty and the Beast." They will be dented and painted for the show, so they will not be returned to you. We need at least two dozen for the production. So, please keep on the lookout at yard sales and garage sales over the holidays. Each tankard needs to be full size in order for it to show up from the stage. Just drop them off at the office, and we'll put them to good use! Thanks for your help!

THANKS FROM THE BOOSTER CLUB
The Booster Club Chicken Dinner was a big success! Over 800 people were fed and Boosters made over $1,900. Many thanks to everyone who supported this fundraiser by buying or selling tickets. We want to extend a very special thank you to those who helped package and distribute dinners: Audrey Alderman, Shannon Balfour, Vicky Bryson, Carolyn Betters, Pat Coram, Susan Harvard, Robin Hawkins, Susan Holt, Kristen McGregor, Bonnie McMillan, Sheila Scott, Meg Stubley, Charlotte Vinson, and student helpers Mickey Betters and Elin McGregor.
The next port-a-pit barbeque will be held in January to help support "Beauty and the Beast." Mark your calendars now for January 23rd.

Our football schedule for 2006 is posted on our Web page. When you look at it, you will see that we do not play Deerfield-Windsor but do play George Walton. Why, you may ask, do we play George Walton four hours away in Monroe with an enrollment larger than that of Deerfield which is only an hour away? The answer is that the GISA made that decision. We turned in a schedule that had Deerfield at the date where we now have George Walton and the GISA, which has the authority, moved Deerfield to Riverside Military and gave us George Walton. The problem was that no one wanted to play Riverside because they are so good. We will replace a natural rival and biggest gate of the year with a team from far away. Few of their fans will come to Thomasville in 2007 for their game with us. Now you know the rest of the story.
Middle School students will want to gather their "Brookwood Bucks" and get ready to go on a spending spree at the first Middle School Auction this year. The Auction will be held on Monday, December 12.
