***SCHOOL PICTURES
Reminder: School Picture Re-takes are Tuesday, October 25th.
The deadline for turning in picture packets has been extended to Monday, October 24. If you turn them in after that date, there will be a late fee.
***MIDDLE SCHOOL HALLOWEEN DANCE/PARTY!
The Middle School will have a Halloween Dance Party on Saturday, October 29th from 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in the Crozer Cafeteria. Students are encouraged to come in costume, but it's not required. Sponsored by the Middle School Council
***VARSITY BOYS SOCCER
The varsity soccer team traveled to Statesboro via charter bus on Tuesday, October 18, to face Bulloch Academy in the first round of the state playoffs. Although Brookwood lost 9-2, the score did not reflect the determination and "heart" with which these boys played. The Warriors scored two goals late in the game, holding Bulloch to a one-goal differential in the second half. Blair Austin scored on an assist by Michael Youmans, and Russell Therrien scored on a penalty kick. Way to go Warriors!
Thank you to Steve Avera for his help on this road trip, and for making sure that no one got left behind!
There will be a short end-of-the-season meeting on Monday, October 24, at 3:15 p.m., in the Lettermen's Lounge. Please bring your uniforms to turn in.
***OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
It's that time again! The Middle School Council is sponsoring Operation Christmas Child! Please help us fill shoe boxes with gifts for boys and girls around the world. Shoe boxes will be available in the front office and the Modular Building. Boxes can be turned in anytime before our deadline of Nov. 17. We have appreciated your participation in this meaningful project in the past; we hope that you will choose to help us again this year. If you have any questions, contact Carolyn Nicholson cnicholson@brookwoodschool.org. You can also check www.samaritanspurse.org for information and guidelines for packing a box.
***SMOKED TURKEY SALE
The Class of 2008 is again offering the "Smoked Turkey Sale" to be picked up from Brookwood on Tuesday, November 22, just in time for Thanksgiving. We are not soliciting sales individually but rather asking those of you who may want a turkey(s) to please contact Susan Harvard (228-5142) (harvard@rose.net) or Sheila Scott (228-5162) (sheilascott704@hotmail.com) to place your order. The turkeys will be $35 each and the deadline for ordering is Friday, October 28. If we do not reach our minimum order, we will let you know via Brookwood Newsletter e-mail. Thanks to all who have continued to support our students.
