Brookwood is very proud and delighted to announce that the Drama Guild has won the Region 3AA One Act Play Competition for the fourth year in a row. On November 2, the Brookwood Drama Guild hosted five schools for the region competition at the Thomasville Music and Drama Troupe Building. Michael Nicholson (Scrooge), Grant Stauffer (Fred/Marley) and Anna Carroll Sims (Mrs. Dilber) were chosen as three of the five outstanding performers in the competition. The students performed Scrooge, The Stingiest Man in Town.
The judges made special comments about the seamless transitions between scenes, thanks to the crew and about the overall quality of the ensemble. One judge noted that the performance really drew her into the story and indicated that the students were having fun.
Congratulations to Mrs. Clineman and the Drama Guild for continuing their string of excellent performances! Special thanks to the Fred and Winnie Allen for the use of the Troupe building. The students will travel to Middle Georgia College in Cochran on November 16 to compete for the state championship.
The students have been invited to perform "Scrooge" during Victorian Christmas at the TOSAC Theatre on Friday, December 9. Plan on joining them as they present two performances that night.
