Sixth Grade Eastern Hemisphere

Click on the above link for study resources.

Students explore the eastern hemisphere both from a geographic and historical perspective.  Topics range from a study of the ancient world to modern times.  Each unit begins with the geography of a particular region or country, and then traces the historical development through the ages. Particular emphasis is placed on map skills, tables, graphs, statistics, personalities, and the flow of historical events.

Sixth Grade Mathematics

This course is sequentially designed to provide a smooth path from arithmetic to algebra and from the visual world of arithmetic to geometry.  Topics that are covered include decimal notation, scientific notation, positive and negative numbers, measurement, fractions and percents, the use of variables, graphs, equations, and word problems.

Sixth Grade Study Skills:

The Premier Go Program is a plug-and-play character development program specifically designed to reinforce and extend understanding of the principles in Sean Covey's The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens.

Video Segments connect the experience of middle schoolers and complete step-by-step lessons that turn thinking into action, helps students focus on their behavior, practice important life skills and get organized to achieve personal goals.

Students will explore a number of core issues such as getting along with others, self-esteem, planning and organization, goal-setting, and making positive choices.  Empathy, sympathy, and compassion emerge as on-going themes.
