Brookwood’s Wish List
Are you looking for a way to support Brookwood? Below you will find a list of projects that we would like to bring to fruition.
Each one will help to enhance the student experience at Brookwood, supports the mission of the school… and requires funding. Please contact Headmaster Dr. Randy Watts or Mrs. Kelly Campbell in Brookwood’s Advancement office if something on this list piques your curiosity.
With national headlines often reflecting school tragedy, we are being proactive in protecting your student and our faculty, staff, and campus. Proceeds from the 2017 Auction will support campus-wide electronic locks, but there are still additional needs. These projects start at $30,000.
From Junior Kindergarteners going to the Center of the Arts and football players traveling to Americus, every student on campus needs a seat on a bus. Our current fleet of vehicles is safe, but with a growing student body and multiple athletic teams, we need new and larger buses to accommodate all their needs. Current transportation needs are: two 14-person Mini Buses at $50,000 each, and one additional 54-person bus at $120,000.
Brookwood’s 50th Anniversary is a few short years away! Over the course of the next few years, we would like honor Brookwood’s history by archiving aging photos and documents, and collecting oral histories from those who were involved in Brookwood’s early days. Ultimately, we would like to produce a book celebrating Brookwood’s first fifty years. Depending on the scope of the project, this will range from $50,000 to $100,000
During the 2015 summer, we made campus improvements to increase the efficiency of our HVAC system, reduce water waste, and have replaced some of our lights with high-efficiency LED bulbs. We would like to continue with our environmental stewardship by replacing all of the lightbulbs, installing automatic lights throughout the campus to reduce usage, and upgrade our water fountains to promote reusing water bottles. Any contribution will help this effort.
The recent completion of the Beverly Athletic Center has fulfilled many of our student-athlete needs for generations to come, but there are still areas on campus that need brushing up. To ensure student-athlete long term health and safety, an ice maker ($6,000), a new PA for Warrior Stadium ($26,000), field drainage solution for Warrior Field ($75,000), and new softball and baseball dugouts ($120,000), are on our wish list.
Brookwood has many great traditions, including the Burning of the “B.” We would like to have a permanent home for this activity and other outdoor fun. This project could range from $2000 to $10,000, depending on scale.
