Congratulations to the Middle school Golf Team, our region champions! Special congrats to Katherine Cook for shooting a 39 and winning Low-Medalist and All-Region, and to All-Region winner George Arline!

2016 Middle School Baseball Team Finishes Strong

The MS baseball team had an outstanding season. They finished their season with a record of 8-7, but a record of 8-5 in the region.  They competed in the region playoffs, defeating Valwood to make it into the region championship against Deerfield.  Though they lost to Deerfield, they finished a very strong second in a very strong region.

Middle school student volunteers had a blast tutoring and hanging out with the kids from Oak Street Mission on Tuesday after school. It was a special and fun time for everyone!

ODYSSEY WINS REGION COMPETITION

This year’s Odyssey team placed first in the region and advanced to state with their version of “Furs, Fins, Feathers, and Friends.”  The skit included a hypochondriac pufferfish (Jackson Clendenin), an angry but adorable lamb (Sarah Hachmuth), a curious chicken (Laine Clendenin), a lactose intolerant mouse (Eva Nunnally), an Italian chef who raps (Sam Watts), a redneck sous chef (Zachary Lauderdale), and vegetarian princess (Lexi Taylor).  The team also tied for second in the banner contest and first in the cake contest (thanks to the multi-talented Rob Clendenin).

Kudos for Bradley Cohen

February has been a big month for eight grader Bradley Cohen.  Bradley attended the Southwest Georgia District Junior/Senior Project Achievement at Rock Eagle 4-H Center and won 1st place in the Fruits, Nuts, and Vegetables category.   Participants had to present an 8-10 minute speech and presentation in front of peers, adults, and two judges.  Participants also had to submit a detailed portfolio of activities related to their project area, school, community, and state involvement throughout a 12-month period of time.

Middle School Girls are 3AAA Region Champs & Middle School Boys are 3AAA Runner-up

he Lady Warriors advanced to the Championship game to take on the Tiftarea Lady Panthers whom they only beat by 1 point earlier in the season.
This game was a fight to the finish, with both teams giving it all they had to see who would come out on top.  At the end of the first quarter the Lady Warriors were down by 2.  In the second quarter the Warriors kept it close with good defense and scoring from Holland Walker at the Free Throw line to go into the locker room down by two, 14-16.  The Lady Warriors continued to work hard on both ends in the 3rd quarter which

In the Middle

Brookwood Middle School teamed up with kids from Oak Street Mission this week for fun on the playground followed by cheering on the Warriors at the JV Girls’ basketball game. The get-together was such a success, plans for another visit are already in the works. Special thanks to all of the middle schoolers who helped to make the event fantastic for our guests.
